Based on the popular ASHP training video and workbook, this third course on environmental and personnel monitoring includes coverage of competency and personnel monitoring, types of monitoring tests, environmental monitoring, non-viable monitoring and requirements, pressure differentials, air flow, air changes, viable monitoring, electronic air sampling, and surface sampling.
This course is broken out into two sections:
- Types of monitoring for compounding personnel. Includes the purpose various tests such as fingertip and surface sampling, non-viable vs. viable environmental monitoring, and appropriate pressure differentials for for hazardous and non-hazardous preparations.
- Training and documentation responsibilities of compounding personnel. Includes patient monitoring, adverse events reporting, and acceptable quality assurance practices.
Each section includes interactive exercises, a Q&A section to check knowledge and understanding, and video clips demonstrating essential techniques and procedures. In all course one includes 9 minutes of video content and the duration is one hour.
